Chandu B Gowda, who is a popular face for Kannada and Telugu television audiences on account of having done multiple serials (Gruha Lakshmi, Lakshmi Baramma, Trinayani, Hrudaya Geetha) in the last decade, is quite excited about his next big screen outing. The actor is part of Challenging Star Darshan’s upcoming release The Devil, which is his second collaboration with the Kannada superstar; they’d earlier worked together on Roberrt.
The Devil is set to release in theatres across Karnataka on December 11, 2025, in the leading man’s absence, so the rest of the cast and crew have taken charge of promotions. Chandu is one of the antagonists in the Prakash Veer directorial, an opportunity that he says he is incredibly fortunate to have got.

“I cannot explain how much it means to me to have gotten a second chance to work with Darshan sir and that too in a role in which I have one-on-one scenes with him. But what makes this film extra special is that after 10-11 years working for TV, there is a certain image that I have among audiences. The role in The Devil is nothing like that – a hardcore negative character, which has been presented in an extremely brutal fashion. My image as an artiste will definitely change after The Devil,” Chandu states in conversation with Kannada Pichhar.
In fact, the actor says that when Prakash approached him for the role and gave him a character narration, he didn’t really pay attention to the details, because all that he dwelt on was that he’d gotten another chance to do a film with Darshan. “I know that Prakash sir does not blindly cast actors. He has a certain vision. Also, he had already given me a good break with Lakshmi Barama, which his banner had produced. I trust him immensely and believe that he will change my life yet again with this film,” added the actor.
