Also written by Satish Varma, Changure Bangaru Raja released in theatres for Vinayaka Chaturthi on September 15. While the film earned decent reviews, it could only put up a modest show at the box office. ETV Win, the OTT platform owned by the Eenadu group, initially premiered the film in October, nearly a month after its theatrical run. The crime comedy enjoyed good viewership on the platform.

After premiering on ETV Win in October, the rural comedy is now out another OTT platform - Amazon Prime Video. The leading streaming platform sprung a surprise with the announcement this Friday. “Kick back, relax, and catch the excitement of #ChangureBangaruRaja. Streaming exclusively on @PrimeVideoIN,” the production confirmed the news this morning.

Changure Bangaru Raja’s story commences when Somanaidu, a villager who does odd jobs for a living, is found murdered under a bridge. All eyes are on his bitter rival - Bangarraju, an orphaned mechanic. The latter falls in love with a corrupt constable Manga. Will Bangarraju succeed in proving his innocence? There’s more confusion when Tata Rao and a contract killer Gateelu enter his life.

OTTplay.com's critic, while reviewing the film, wrote, “Changure Bangaru Raja is a largely impressive, partly inconsistent crime comedy with superb humour and fine performances. Debutant Satish Varma displays a good flair for comedy, writes quirky characters and establishes the rural backdrop with earnestness.” Karthik Rathnam was also seen in the OTT show Vyavastha and another film titled Lingoccha.
