Channing Tatum’s low-budget comedy-drama Dog, which has already won the hearts of the US audience, is getting ready for a release in India. Dog will hit theatres in India on March 11.

"I truly believe that Dogs are our link to Paradise and I am very happy to invite Indian audiences for this entertaining and emotional journey. This is one film we all at MVP are very excited about and are looking forward to,” said Sunil Udhani, Country Head, MVP Entertainment as reported by Pinkvilla.

PVR Pictures took to Twitter to announce the news with the fans, also sharing the film’s poster along with the post.

The film follows U.S U.S. Army Ranger Jackson Briggs, who is tasked with bringing Lulu, a Belgian Malinois military working dog, across the state in time for a funeral. Their relationship starts off on a tricky note, but soon changes for the better.

Dog also deals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other issues that war causes brave soldiers and veterans as well as the trauma-related anxiety effects on a service dog.

The film’s trailer, which was released in November last year, promises a heartfelt story of loyalty and friendship, brimming with emotion.

Co-directed by Reid Carolin and Tatum, the comedy is based on a 2017 HBO documentary, War Dog: A Soldier's Best Friend. The movie also stars Jane Adams, Kevin Nash, Ethan Suplee, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Nicole LaLiberte in supporting roles.

Dog is the actor’s first full time appearance after five years. Tatum, who was last seen in a cameo appearance in Ryan Reynold’s Free Guy, is also working on The Lost City co-starring Sandra Bullock.
