Kiccha Sudeep's nephew Sanchith Sanjeev is all set to make his debut with a film titled Jimmy. Unlike his contemporaries or most other debut outings, Sanchith will not only be playing the lead role in the but also directing the film in his pursuit to potentially be a cut above the rest. And it perhaps helps that he has learnt the craft at the revered New York Film Academy which resulted in his uncle and other top names in the Kannada Film Industry entrusting him with a dual role.
The film was launched at a formal muhurtha event on June 15 wherein Sanchith briefly addressed the media in a manner to introduce himself and also share that more details of the film will be revealed in due time. One such key detail is about to surface this Sunday (June 25) with the makers unveiling his character in the film with a special glimpse at 6 pm.
In his recent conversation with OTTplay, Sanchith revealed that it was his uncle Sudeep who suggested toying around with the same idea that formed the core of a short film he had previously directed. Sanchith Sanjeev, at this point, was going through the usual grind of listening to scripts and narrations but it occurred to both of them that run-of-the-mill stuff just won't cut it anymore. And soon enough, the Vikrant Rona actor would nudge Sanchith in the right direction, pointing out that he could not only utilize an existing subject but also direct himself, considering that he had the right vision for it.
In the same conversation, Sanchith described his film as a crime drama that attempts to tell a modern crime story, one that is devoid of the usual bloodshed and gangster tropes.
As far as the crew involved, KP Sreekanth and G. Manoharan are producing the film together (their third joint venture) with Priya Sudeep, Kiccha Sudeep's wife, making her debut as a producer under the banner of Supriyanvi Picture Studio. Vasuki Vaibhav scores the music with Amith handling cinematography. Art Director Shivakumar of KGF 2 and Salaar fame, too, has been brought on board.
