Daredevil was undoubtedly the best series from the MCU stable, and yet, after three very successful seasons, it was abruptly cancelled in 2018. It was only in June 2022 that lead actor Charlie Cox was reeled in by the studio yet again to reprise the character of Matt Murdoch/Daredevil, which he first did with a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Later, when Daredevil moved from Netflix to Disney+Hotstar, he was also a part of She-Hulk, as a very goofy love interest for the attorney at law. This change in tone didn’t much appeal to die-hard fans of the Devil from Hell’s Kitchen, so the news that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has ordered a reboot of the show and scrapped the nearly nine episodes that have already been shot, comes as godsent.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios let go of Chris Ord and Matt Corman, the head writers of Daredevil: Born Again sometime in September, as well as the directors lined up for the rest of the episodes that were to be shot. The show will have a creative reboot, for which the studio is looking for new writers and directors. The report further states that among the many reasons cited for the show to be scrapped and set to be rebooted, was that the showrunners were treating Daredevil more as a legal drama than an action-packed one like the earlier seasons, with Matt Murdock wearing his trademark red suit only in episode four. Also, one of the now scrapped episodes featured a lengthy sequence of Matt twerking with She Hulk. Born Again, according to the studio just wasn’t exciting enough for them to continue. Marvel Studios does not want a watered down version of Daredevil, and Born Again will follow a similar template and tone to the earlier seasons.
