OHO Original series Chaskela recently dropped on the Gujarati OTT platform and fans can’t get enough of this sitcom. Directed by Anish Shah, the show follows the bittersweet conversations of six friends who are helping their friend get over a heartbreaking separation. They meet up every week at his house and find new ways to deal with their problems and sorrows.
The series explores multiple themes that are rooted in reality, like marriage as a social construct and its relevance in modern times. Chaskela also focuses on misplaced ideas of feminism, the prevalence of patriarchy, and the concept of arranged marriage. The makers intended for the show to strike a chord with audiences who find themselves questioning the way society works.
Six episodes of this series feature talented Gujarati actors as the six friends. The actors are known to us as Saurabh (Shivam Parekh), Charmi (Sharvary Joshi), Mihir (Sanjay Galsar), Radhika (Deeksha Joshi), (Brijesh) Raunaq Kamdar as Brijesh and Niket (Tatsat Munshi). All six friends come from different walks of life and have different opinions on the issues they face.
Commenting on the upcoming series, Abhishek Jain, Co-founder, OHO Gujarati said, “We all have a group of close friends, but even within that circle, we have that one person with whom we relate and connect the most. This series while showcasing the close friend’ fun yet the not-so-perfect world will highlight the beautiful bond of friendship shared among them. As all the characters are in their 20s, each friend represents a milieu, mindset, and value system, which truly defines the struggles of men and women in their mid-20s, hence making the series relatable, especially to the younger audience. And while we are all at our respective homes, away from our friends and family, we believe this series will set our audience on a trip down their memory lane, reminiscing the memorable times spent with their close friends and family.”
Chaskela, a tale of friendship and adulthood, is streaming on OHO Gujarati.
