Chatrapthi, Hindi remake of S.S. Rajamouli's hit starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas, gets a release date

Popular Telugu film director V.V. Vinayak, who has delivered many hit films like Aadi, Dil, Tagore etc., announced in 2021 that he would be making his Hindi debut with Chatrapathi. The film would be an official remake of S.S. Rajamouli's 2005 hit of the same name (starring Prabhas and Shriya Saran) and would also mark the debut of Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sreenivas.

Launched in 2021, the Hindi version of Chatrapathi has been in the making for quite some time now but the makers are finally ready with the release of the film. Bellamkonda Sreenivas took to social media a short while ago to gladly announce that his maiden Hindi effort is releasing in theatres this May.

Chatrapthi, the Hindi version, will arrive in cinema halls on May 12, 2023. The actor's emphatic announcement also included that revered writer V. Vijayendra Prasad, who happens to be S.S. Rajamouli's father and the story-writer of almost all of his films, has penned the story of Chatrapathi, as well.

Dr Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios is producing the project with Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Aksshay Jayantilal Gada of Pen Marudhar Cine Entertainment distributing the movie worldwide.

As far as the first poster of Chatrapathi is concerned, Bellamkonda Srinivas makes a strong impression with his brawny physique and one does hope that he does justice to the role that has now been immortalized by Prabhas. To his advantage, the Hindi audience has grown aware of Sreenivas through the dubbed versions of some of his popular Telugu titles - Khoonkhar, the Hindi dubbed movie of Jaya Janaki Nayaka, has attracted more than 700 million views on YouTube.

Nushrratt Bharuccha is the female lead of Chatrapathi with Sahil Vaid, Amit Nair, Rajendra Gupta, Shivam Patil, Swapnil, and others, too, part of the cast. Tanishk Bagchi has scored the music.
