In November 2020, Netflix announced plans for a Korean adaptation of the hit Spanish show Money Heist. Now, the cast of the upcoming K-drama has been revealed on the official Instagram handle of Netflix Korea.

The Professor will be played by actor-model-filmmaker Yoo Ji-Tae in the Korean version of the show while Park Hae Soo has bagged the role of older brother Berlin. Jeon Jong Seo will play Tokyo. Park Myung Hoon, from the Oscar-winning film Parasite, has been cast as one of the hostages, supposedly as Arturo Román in the original. Lee Joobeen has also been cast as another hostage.

Money Heist creator Alex Pina had earlier told Variety, “Korean creators have been developing their own language and audio-visual culture for years. They have managed, like our series, to go beyond cultural borders and become a point of reference for thousands of viewers around the world, especially among young people.”

The Korean version of La Casa de Papel will be helmed by filmmaker Kim Hong Sun, who is best known for directing the shows like Voice, The Guest and Black.

At the end of the fourth season, the Spanish show left its fans with a major cliff-hanger. Patrick Criado and Miguel Ángel Silvestre will join the cast from season 4 in the final season, which is yet to get a release date.
