Initially playing supporting roles in movies and on television shows, Darshan Kumar made his debut as a lead actor in the sports drama biopic Mary Kom. Now, he stars alongside established names like Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty in Vivek Agnihotri’s much-anticipated The Kashmir Files. Tere Naam is the Hindi remake of the 1999 Tamil-language film Sethu. Darshan Kumar plays the role of Kanak Sharma, one of the closest friends of Salmaan Khan’s character Radhe Mohan. Radhe’s two other friends are Aslam and Chander. The three of them support Radhe no matter what circumstances arise.

The 2014 biographical sports drama, Mary Kom, is based on the life of boxer Mary Kom. Darshan plays the role of Onler Kom, renowned boxer Mary Kom’s (Priyanka Chopra) supportive husband. The film was Darshan’s debut film as a lead actor, and his stellar performance put him in the spotlight.

NH10 (JioTV, ZEE5, Eros Now)

Darshan plays Satbir, a gang leader and a murderer in the action thriller film NH10 featuring Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam in the lead roles. Writer Sudip Sharma wrote the script based on real-life honour killing cases. The movie went on to receive positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success. Moreover, Darshan was awarded the International Indian Film Academy Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role.

Sarbjit (Amazon Prime Video)

Sarbjit is a biographical drama based on the life of Sarabjit Singh Attwal, an Indian citizen falsely convicted as a terrorist and spy by the Pakistani court. The film stars Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda in lead roles, and Darshan Kumar plays the supporting role of a lawyer who is trying to acquit Sarbjit in court. Sarbjit premiered at the 69th Cannes Film Festival, and while it received mixed reviews from critics, the movie was a commercial hit.

Baaghi 2 (Disney+ Hotstar)

Darshan Kumar is the antagonist in the sequel to Telugu-film based movie, Baaghi. Baaghi 2 depicts the lives of a mother, her daughter and the mother’s ex-boyfriend. Darshan plays Shekhar Salgaonkar, a hateful father who may be involved in his daughter’s kidnapping. In its release year, Baaghi 2 was the highest-grossing Bollywood film.
