Jeet is all set with his new film Chengiz. It is going to be one of the biggest Eid releases in the Bengali film industry and this time, the film will also release in Hindi. With this film, he completed 21 years in Tollywood. His debut film Sathi was released in 2002, and the Bengal film industry got its new superstar. But his journey was not smooth. He struggled in Mumbai at the beginning. Then he came to Tollywood and got his first big break in Srikant Mohta's film.
Jeet hails from a Sindhi family. He understood Bengali but was not fluent in speaking. He had a non-Bengali accent in his pronunciation. The director and producer told him that Jeet would not do the dubbing. But the Sultan of Tollywood did not lose hope. What did he do? Jeet once came to Rituparna Ghosh's talk show and told the story.
Jeet said in Ghosh and Company, “Initially Harada (Haranath Chakraborty) and Mani-Srikant (Mahendra Soni, Srikant Mohta) said that they want someone else to do the dubbing. I asked them to give me one day. If they do not like my work, they can go to someone else. Then I went to the dubbing studio and followed the others. After the shooting ended and before the dubbing, I used to read Bengali newspapers and recorded that. I felt that it was not a Bengali voice, whenever I listened to it. I continued with my effort.”
How did he know that he passed the ordeal? Jeet answered, “I was raised in a joint family. One day my uncle asked who listened to Bengali news. Then I understood that I passed.” However, Jeet said that he still loudly reads Bengali books and newspapers whenever he gets the time. He wants to continue that practice in the future.
Jeet will next be seen in the film Chengiz. This is a commercial film, to be released on Eid. Susmita Chattopadhyay and Sataf Figure will also star in the film
