Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar is an upcoming historical action movie. It features Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The historical drama film revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, with Vicky playing the lead role as Sambhaji. Rashmika plays Maharani Yesubai and Akshaye Khanna portrays Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. As the release date is near, here is everything you need to know about Chhaava.
Laxman Utekar's historical action film, Chhaava, will be released on Valentine's Day, February 14. As Vicky Kaushal said, this year it is Chhaava Day and not Valentine's Day. Fans cannot wait to see Vicky as a historical figure on big screens.

The plot follows Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's heroic journey as he faces challenges and stands against the Mughal Empire, highlighting his bravery and legacy.
The film is based on the Marathi novel "Chhava" by Shivaji Sawant, depicting the struggles and eventual martyrdom of Sambhaji Maharaj against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The title "Chhaava" translates to "Lion Cub" in Marathi, signifying Sambhaji's fierce and courageous nature. The trailer gives a glimpse of a world that is grand and also promises a good history lesson.
In Chhaava, Vicky Kaushal will be seen as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He was the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire, ruling from 1681 to 1689. Rashmika Mandanna will be seen playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's wife, Maharani Yesubai.
Akshaye Khanna's role as Aurangzeb will be an interesting watch. Aurangzeb was the sixth Mughal emperor, reigning from 1658 until he died in 1707.
Ashutosh Rana will be seen in the role of Hambirrao Mohite. Diana Penty will be seen as Aurangzeb's daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa Begum. She was a Mughal princess and the second daughter of Emperor Aurangzeb and his chief consort, Dilras Banu Begum. Apart from them, the cast also features Divya Dutta as Soyarabai Bhosale, Vineet Kumar, Santosh Juvekar, Neil Bhoopaam, and Pradeep Rawat.
Chhaava is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar.
As per the CBFC website, Chhaava has received a UA 16+ rating, and the runtime is 161 minutes and 50 seconds (2 hours, 41 minutes, and 50 seconds).
