Aaya Re Toofan from Chhaava Out

Titled Aaya Re Toofan, the song from Chhaava is sung and composed by A.R. Rahman, and is penned by Irshad Kamil. The song features Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who is preparing for war. We see him showing his valour as he prepares and finally goes on the battleground, where he is no less than a lion roaring and taking the world down single-handedly. Rahman's music is chest-thumping and will raise your adrenaline levels instantly.

Sharing the music video on Instagram, the makers, in the caption for Aya Re Toofan, wrote, “Woh aandhi hai, jiski rag-rag mein hai Toofan. #AayaReToofan, song out now. Just 8 days left to witness the fire, the fury, the legend! #Chhaava releasing in cinemas on 14th February.”

About Chhaava

For the uninitiated, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under his production house Maddock Pictures, Chhaava is based on the life of the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha empire, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who ruled from 1681 to 1689. The movie is set on a massive scale and also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Divya Dutta as Sambhaji Maharaj’s stepmother Soyarabai, and Akshaye Khanna as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

It was recently when the movie landed in controversy when some groups questioned the creative choice of the filmmaker and team to have Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj dance in the movie, whereas they claimed that the King never really did any such things in real life. Reportedly, after politician Raj Thackeray advised Laxman Utekar to edit out the song where Vicky Kaushal dances as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Utekar obliged and removed it from the film.

The Chhaava trailer was released on January 22, 2025, and the movie is set to release on the big screen on February 14, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
