Vicky Kaushal is riding high on the success of his film Chhaava. The Laxman Utekar film was released on February 14, 2025. Based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhaava has shattered several box office records. Today, on March 11, Vicky paid heartfelt tribute to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He shared a still from the historical epic on his official Instagram account.

Vicky Kaushal's tribute to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj

On Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's death anniversary, Vicky Kaushal paid tribute to the Maratha warrior. Sharing a still from his film Chhaava, the actor penned, "11th March 1689- शंभु राजे बलिदान दिवस । Today, on the Punyatithi of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, I bow to the warrior who chose death over surrender, who stood tall in the face of unimaginable torture and who lived and died for his beliefs (sic)." He further reflected on playing Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava. "Some roles stay with you forever, and playing Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava has been one of them. His story is not just history- it is courage, sacrifice and an undying spirit that still inspires millions. Zinda Rahey! जय भवानी, जय शिवाजी! जय संभाजी! (sic)," added Vicky.

In Laxman Utekar's film Chhaava, Rashmika Mandanna essayed the character of Maharani Yesubai. As for Akshaye Khanna, he was seen as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Neil Bhoopalam and Divya Dutta were a part of the film's supporting cast. Produced by Maddock Films, Chhaava grossed over Rs 700 crore at the worldwide box office.

Before Chhaava was released, Vicky Kaushal was seen in Bad Newz with Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk. The 2024 film worked decently at the box office. The actor's upcoming movie is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War. He will share screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the movie.
