Chhorii 2: Soha Ali Khan joins the cast of Nushrratt Bharuccha’s film

Chhorii is gearing up to make a comeback onto the silver screen yet again, promising yet another roller coaster ride of horror. The sequel to the hit 2021 film will see Nushrratt Bharuccha reprise her role as the protagonist. It was reported that Soha Ali Khan will also join the cast of the sequel in a prominent role.

In a statement, Soha said that she was thrilled to be on board for the sequel. Opening up about her role in the film, the actress said that she will essay a ‘unique’ role that was significantly different from the characters she played till now. “I really enjoyed the first edition of Chhorii, and am excited to up the horror quotient in this edition”, she said.

Nushrratt returns as Sakshi Devi, a young pregnant woman who discovers a devastating secret about her husband. The actress revealed that she was very excited to play Sakshi again and to return to the world of Chhorii yet again. “I cannot wait for the audiences to experience what we have in store for them, this time. It's going to be bigger and better!”, she added.

Vishal Furia directed the first film and will return to the director’s chair for the sequel as well. Saying that he was ‘thrilled’ to take Chhorii’s story to the ‘next level’ with the upcoming sequel, he revealed that he always intended the film to be part of a multiple film franchise and was delighted that his producers also backed his vision. The director said “I am excited to bring back Nushrratt in the sequel and to begin a new journey with a powerhouse talent like Soha.”

In addition to Nushrratt and Soha, the upcoming film will also feature Pallavi Patil and Saurabh Goyal in pivotal roles.
