Chhorii 2 is the sequel to the 2021 horror thriller film, Chhorii. Starring Nushrratt Bharuccha in her Sakshi role, the sequel features Soha Ali Khan as an antagonist. In a new interview, the actress revealed why she chose an antagonist role to return to films after a short break. Soha shared her love for horror films and also opened up about her self-discovery journey amid motherhood.

Soha Ali Khan on choosing antagonist role in Chhorii 2

Speaking to PTI, Soha Ali Khan revealed why she chose an antagonist character in Chhorii 2 for her comeback. Expressing her love for horror movies, the actress shared, "The actor in me was like, I want to play an antagonist, and I love horror. It is one of the most compelling forms of cinema. If it's done well, it can absorb you, it can move you from your seat and stay with you for days and months."

Soha Ali Khan on motherhood and self discovery

The actress also opened up about her self discovery journey amid motherhood. She is a proud mother of Inaaya Naumi Khemu and we often see her pictures and videos on Soha's social media handle.

She shared, "Truth be told, when I became a parent, because I'm an obsessive person, I became obsessed with my child. I forgot not just films but my family, friends, husband, and everyone."

She further added that she was just obsessed with her daughter but now she is older and, she doesn't need her anymore. "So, I need to find something, I need my identity," Soha said.

The story centers on a demonic possession and abduction, which forces Sakshi to confront her past and the social prejudices that haunt her. The film explores themes of motherhood, female subjugation, and the fight against age-old prejudices. Soha played the mysterious role of Dasi Maa. 

The cast of Chhorii 2 also features Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma. Produced by T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment, Psych, and Tamarisk Lane Production and helmed by Vishal Furia, the horror film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
