In the last week of November and the beginning of December, several Kannada dubbed titles became available on OTT. Chikku, which is the Kannada version of Chithha, was reported to drop weeks ago, but made it only a couple of days ago on to a streamer, while Dhoomam comes a good 5 months after its theatrical release.

Actor Siddharth’s Chithha’s Kannada version, Chikku, is about the lengths to which one man goes to protect and avenge his niece. Produced by the actor, the film is about child sexual abuse, a subject that critics say, has been handled with utmost sensitivity, making Chithha/Chikku a must watch. The film also stars Nimisha Sajayan in pivotal role. Siddharth has dubbed for his role in the Kannada version as well.

The show also stars Prachi Desai, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Parvathy Thiruvoth, Pasupathy, Gowtham Krishna, Chaitanya Garikapati, Tharun Bhascker, Jaya Prakash, Tanikella Bharani, Easwari Rao, among others.

Kannada filmmaker Pawan Kumar wanted to make a film called C10H14Ns (Nicotine) in Kannada, but was unable to get the right producer or cast onboard. When he eventually got Hombale Films to back it, they were keen on a collab with actor Fahadh Faasil and the film got made in Malayalam instead. Called Dhoomam, the film was a revenge saga revolving around the fallouts of nicotine consumption.
