Childhood buddies Pannaga Bharana and Prajwal Devaraj unite for film backed by good pal Rajshri Ponnappa

It was meant to happen at some point, and honestly, the question now is what took them so long? Childhood buddies Pannaga Bharana and Prajwal Devaraj have finally announced a project together. At this point, not much is known about the upcoming movie, except that Pannaga is directing Prajwal and that it is being backed by their mutual friend and actress Rajshri Ponnappa, based on a script by her fiancé, Adhir Bhat.

Adhir is a writer in Bollywood, known for projects such as Bandish Bandits, Betaal, Karwaan, etc., so this film for Pannaga will mark his Sandalwood debut too. The script, we hear, is ready, and the team had a puja for the same to officially announce their collaboration. However, as of now, there is no fixed timeline as to when they will be able to go on floors, as Prajwal is currently shooting for Mafia, after which he has Gana and a couple of other earlier commitments to complete.

During the script puja, it was also revealed that Vasuki Vaibhav, who composed for Pannaga’s earlier French Biriyani, will return for this film as well. Meanwhile, according to reports, Pannaga and Prajwal were supposed to collaborate on a project, which was to also star their close buddy, the late Chiranjeevi Sarja, way back in 2020. Unfortunately, Chiranjeevi passed away before they could put their plan in action. Pannaga has, however, announced a production venture featuring Chiru’s wife, Meghana Raj, which is also in the works.

Pannaga and Prajwal have earlier worked together as actors in Mrigashira and Neenadenaa, but this will be their first as a director-actor combo. Reports state that given the close bond the duo share, Pannaga is quite confident that their professional collaboration will be easy to manage. A leading lady is yet to be decided for the film.
