Chiranjeet Chakraborty and Indrani Dutta pair up for The Loop

Veteran actor Chiranjeet Chakraborty and Indrani Dutta pair up together years after Sedin Chaitramash in an upcoming thriller, The Loop. Directed by Argha Deep Chatterjee, the film also features Priyanka Sarkar, Ishan Mazumder, Barun Chanda, Apratim Chatterjee, Indrajit Mazumder, Tanaya Mukherjee, Hrishie Raj, Keya Chakraborty and others. 

The film delves into the interactions and changing equations of a few guests at a resort. The music of the film is composed by Ranajoy Bhattacharjee. Chiranjeet and Indrani play the character of the owners of the resort, Mr and Mrs Gomes. “It is an interesting script. My character, Mrs Gomes is intriguing. I am sure people will love it. I will be working with Chiranjeetda after years and am happy and excited about it,” Indrani said. 

Elaborating on the idea of the film, the director said, “We usually use the word ‘loop’ to signify something that recurs in our lives. For example, if we listen to one song repeatedly, I often say that ‘we are listening to it on a loop’. If there is a place we often go to, we say, ‘We go there in a loop’. However, the word ‘loop’ has a lot more significance than just this. We still use it to mark something that recurs. This film delves into the idea of recurrence. The name of the resort where all the characters gather is called, The Loop. Perhaps the name came from the idea that guests do go back to the place often. It talks about a day when a number of guests come to the resort. The day starts with a lot of merriment and eventually, things go awry for each of them. It poses as a thriller but has a lot more elements to it. These will be revealed later in the film.”
