Kuberaa is Sekhar Kammula's new film that has been declared a smash hit at the box office. The film's success has given the Telugu industry a much-needed respite at a time when no other films are drawing audiences to theaters. The social drama is being loved by one and all, and the latest to be bowled over by the film is none other than megastar Chiranjeevi.
He attended a special press interaction the other day and praised the team to the skies. But the best compliment came when Chiranjeevi stated that he did not see Dhanush in the film; he only saw the beggar. “I was blown away by Dhanush's performance, and I am sure he will bag yet another National Award for his performance in Kuberaa,” said Chiranjeevi.
The star hero also added that he was shocked to learn that Nagarjuna had agreed to play a key role in a Dhanush film and was curious to see how he would perform in Kuberaa. “My close friend Nag has opened avenues for himself and clearly shown us the path, that it is no longer about star status but about playing important roles as we grow older in the industry. I will surely take Nag as an inspiration and look forward to doing such key roles in big-ticket films,” added Chiranjeevi.
He also praised Sekhar Kammula for delivering such a unique film to the audience. He lauded the way the director conveyed a strong message through gripping thrills. Chiranjeevi further said he was bowled over by Rashmika’s performance in the film and called her “so cute” in the scenes with Dhanush.
But Chiranjeevi didn’t shy away from repeatedly praising Dhanush during his speech. “Dhanush is a rare gem who performs his characters in a way that inspires actors like us. Kuberaa showcases his true potential, and I feel no other actor in the country could have played this role. I strongly believe Dhanush deserves a National Award for his performance,” he concluded.
Kuberaa is nearing the ₹50 crore mark and will be out on Amazon Prime once its theatrical run concludes. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
