Through his four-decade career in Telugu cinema, Brahmanandam has consistently proved that he’s a performer par excellence. While his turn as a lead actor went unappreciated with Babai Hotel in the 90s, he’s finally getting to rediscover himself beyond comedy roles with credible performances in films like Panchathantram and most recently Rangamarthanda.

Rangamarthanda, directed by Krishna Vamsi, also starring Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Shivathmika Rajashekar, has opened to glorious reviews all over. For the shoe-string budget in which it was made, the footfalls across the Telugu states have been very impressive in the first two days. Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan are the latest additions to the list of celebs floored by the film.

The father-son duo was particularly appreciative of Brahmanandam’s efforts in the film and congratulated him with a shawl earlier this week. In an image featuring the three actors, the veteran comedian is overjoyed to be recognised by the actors. The latter played the role of an ageing theatre actor Chakrapani, who’s friends with his actor-counterpart Rangamarthanda Raghava Rao.

For the uninitiated, Chiranjeevi even rendered a shayari titled Nenoka Natudni that appears during the title credits of Rangamarthanda. Brahmanandam was also felicitated amidst the presence of several celebs in the industry in another event. While expressing his happiness, he shared, “It feels great to be receiving compliments from all corners, I am honestly thrilled.”

“I must be blessed to have entertained audiences as a comedian in this birth. Every individual craves salvation. However, I will ask God to give me multiple births and another opportunity to bring a smile onto a person’s face,” Brahmanandam added. Anasuya Bharadwaj, Aadarsh Balakrishna, Rahul Sipligunj, Kasi Viswanath, Sana and Jayalalitha essayed important roles in the film.
