It’s miraculous how Amitabh Bachchan, 54 years after he debuted with Saat Hindustani, continues to hog limelight, stay relevant, act in movies, host shows and find time to maintain his widely read blog. The acting legend turns 81 today. Conveying his birthday wishes to the Sholay star, Chiranjeevi posted a heartfelt message on social media that does absolute justice to his legacy.
“A Very HAPPY 81st BIRTHDAY Guru Ji @SrBachchan! May you be blessed with a long life, filled with happiness & good health! May you keep enthralling & inspiring millions of us for many many years to come, with your acting genius!!This Birthday of yours is also very special for me, because I am looking forward to meeting you, my idol, virtually tonight on your legendary KBC show!!,” he wrote.
Along with the message, Chiranjeevi even shared a couple of images from the sets of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, the patriotic drama in which Amitabh Bachchan had an extended special appearance. The 81-year-old had played a guru to the titular character in the film, who acts as a spiritual and emotional anchor in his life. The Surender Reddy directorial went onto release in five languages.
Both the stars have always shared a cordial equation over the years and have greeted each other with warmth and respect. Amitabh Bachchan, nearly a decade ago, was bestowed with the annual ANR National Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. Amitabh is awaiting the release of another major Telugu film in 2024 - Kalki 2898, a dystopian thriller written and directed by Nag Ashwin.
The veteran is also reuniting with Rajinikanth after three decades for a hard-hitting cop saga, tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, directed by TJ Gnanavel. His next major release is Ganapath, directed by Vikas Bahl, where he shares screen space alongside Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon and others. He was also seen in a brief cameo in Ghoomer, Abhishek Bachchan-Saiyami Kher’s sports drama.
