Chiranjit Chakraborty is known to be an outspoken person who keeps clear views regarding his acting and political career. Now he became vocal regarding Barasat’s cinema hall. He has long dreamed of building a cinema hall in Barasat. According to his admission, he told this to the CM Mamata Banerjee many times. But Chiranjeet said it bore no fruit.
Chiranjeet played a crucial role in the fall of the Left Front in 2011. He became the MLA of Barasat that year. He retained the seat since then. Once he wished to leave politics, but that did not materialise.
While talking to the media, Chiranjeet talked about the cinema hall in Barasat. He said that Mamata Banerjee is his favorite leader and he asked her to build a hall in Barasat many times. But the government has yet to express any intent.
Chiranjeet will be seen in the film Dabaru, produced by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Windows Production House. Not only did he work with Windows after decades, but he also worked with Rituparna Sengupta after a long time. The film, directed by Pathikrit Basu, is a biopic of Grand Master Surya Sekhar Ganguly. Dipankar De, Koushik Sen, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Biswanath Basu played other important roles in the film. Samadarshi Sarkar plays the child Surya and Arghya Basu Roy plays the teenager Surya. Dabaru will be released on May 10, during summer vacation.
