During a roundtable interview with The Film Companion, Siddharth expressed his appreciation for Malayalam actor Mammootty's recent script selections. “The choices that he is making are mind-bending. With his amazing works like Peranbu, Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, and lastly, Kaathal- The Core, it is unbelievable what he is doing. His curiosity for finding new characters is unmatched,” he continued.

Film fans praised the actor's most recent film, Chithha, greatly for how it handled a delicate subject and emotional component. Apart from playing the lead role, Siddharth has also produced the film, starring Baby Sahasra Shree, Baby S Aafiyah Tasneem, and Nimisha Sajayan. Chithha is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

Working in Chithha

According to Siddharth, two things helped Chithha become the movie it is- the writing and the way the drama was acted out on screen. "I think that well-written works can improve the performances of artists. He used to provide ten pages of subtext and description for every scene, which was very helpful to us, he said.

Regarding a poignant sequence in the movie where Sundari's mother counsels her about good and bad touch, the actor stated that it was difficult to capture the viewpoints of Sundari, her mother, and her uncle, Eeswaran. "The mother cannot sound wrong in any situation. Our goal there was not to bring in heroic goodness to Eeswaran by the mother persuading the child that your uncle would never commit such an act," he continued.

Inspirations in the film industry

The Jigarthanda actor referred to Kamal Haasan as his favourite actor and his first guru, saying that the latter's 1994 film Mahanadhi sparked his interest in films. "I recently wrapped up my work at Indian 2. You will be astounded by Kamal Sir's level of humility on set. When the director speaks, he stays silent. Having artists like them is great because it shows you that you can always be so much better," he remarked.

“Another mentor is Mani Ratnam, whom I assisted in Kannathil Muthamittal,” he added.
