The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Chithini, have dropped an update regarding its theatrical release. The horror drama will hit the big screens across the state on August 2. Bengali actress Moksha, Vinay Forrt and Amith Chakkalakkal are playing the lead roles in this movie. If released on the said date, the film will be running in theatres along with Manju Warrier’s Footage.
Both the teasers of the movie hinted at an intriguing horror drama set in a forest region. While Amith plays a police officer who stays in the enigmatic bungalow, Vinay appears to be a youngster who is in search of the mystery behind Chithini’s death or disappearance. Who is Chithini and Moksha’s role in the film are expected to be revealed following the film’s release in August. A trailer is expected in the coming days.
On December 23 of last year, East Coast Communications released the title look poster for East Coast Vijayan's film Chithini. The poster was unveiled by actor Suresh Gopi via his official Facebook page. It quickly went viral on social media.
In the fantasy comedy Kallanum Bhagavathyum directed by East Coast Vijayan, Moksha made her Malayalam film debut. Her portrayal of Bhagavathy had received praise from the audience. As the female leads, debutantes Arathi Nair and Enakshi will also be in the movie.
The dialogue and screenplay for the movie were written by East Coast Vijayan and K V Anil. The movie will be simultaneously released in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu, according to the makers. They also disclosed that Chithini, the seventh production on the East Coast, will be an emotional drama with scary scenes.
The supporting cast of this film includes Johnny Antony, Joy Mathew, Sudheesh, Srikanth Murali, Jayakrishnan, Manikandan Achary, Sujith Shankar, Pramod Veliyanadu, Rajesh Sharma, Unni Raja, Anoop Sivasevan, and Kootikal Jayachandran.
