Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra trailer to be released on this date?

If the buzz is to go by, the trailer of Chiyaan Vikram's upcoming film Cobra is all set to release on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day. The trailer is said to be ready and is likely to be released as an Independence Day special. Cobra is a spy thriller, direct Ajay Gnanamuthu. Fans have also urging the team to release the trailer on August 15. Srinidhi Shetty of K.G.F plays the leading lady in the action entertainer. Cobra marks her Tamil debut along with veteran Malayalam actor Mamu Koya. Former cricketer Irfan Pathan also makes his acting debut with the film. Vikram plays a mathematician, who goes on to commit crimes in a smooth manner across the country.

The film has an ensemble cast comprising KS Ravikumar, Babu Antony, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Kaniha, Miya George, Roshan Mathew, Mrinalini Ravi, Sarjano Khalid, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Poovaiyar and Mohammad Ali Baig. Music for the film is by AR Rahman and the songs were launched in a grand function for which Vikram himself made an appearance much to the delight of his fans after a health scare. Harish Kannan and Bhuvan Srinivasan are in charge of the cinematography and editing respectively.

Ajay Gnanamuthu had earlier helmed Demonte Colony and Imaikka Nodigal, both of which on to be a success at the box office. This is his first collaboration with Vikram. Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed the action sequences and Sathish Krishnan has composed the dance moves in the film. The theatrical rights have been bagged by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies. The film's release has been postponed multiple times and was supposed to hit screens on today on August 11. However, when Cobra team pushed its date to August 31, the team of Viruman decided to advance their release and is all set to hit screens tomorrow. Cobra is Vikram's first theatrical release in three years.
