Chiyaan61 team drops a glimpse of Vikram's character in the film; Twitter goes berserk

When Chiyaan Vikram dropped a glimpse of his character from his upcoming film, which is tentatively being referred to as Chiyaan61, Twitter went haywire. In the picture, Chiyaan Vikram is seen facing away from the camera and is seen sporting long hair. A donkey is seen in the backdrop. The picture has sent ripples across social media and many users have stated that the mere promo picture induces goosebumps. Taking to his social media handle, Vikram wrote, "Lookin forward to the unveiling of another masterpiece from my dear @beemji,@ 8pm tomorrow.A @gvprakash musical! (sic)."

The film's director Pa Ranjith revealed that the title of the film will be announced today. He wrote, "Title announcement of my next with @chiyaansir unveiling tomorrow at 8 PM. A @gvprakash musical! @kegvraja (sic)." 

A day before the announcement, Chiyaan61 music composer GV Prakash Kumar had spilled the beans on his social media handle that a killer announcement would be made soon. He had written, ""#chiyaan61 @beemji @StudioGreen2 …. Update very very soon .. going to be a killer ride … musically a very interesting project to work on….. exciting times ahead, (sic)."

The shoot for the film began recently with a look test. Chiyaan61 is set in the pre-independence era in the Kolar Gold Field and is said to be revolve around the discrimination meted out against a marginalised community there. Ranjith had earlier stated the community has been yearning for respect and the film is an attempt to provide the same. Ranjith also revealed that Vikram will have a never-before-seen avatar and the film will have a strong woman character who will traverse throughout the plot. Chiyaan61 is being made on a grand buget and a large scale and is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja. The film is said to be a pan-India project.
