Chor Bazaar is an action comedy starring filmmaker Puri Jagannadh’s son Akash Puri and Gehna Sippy in the lead. The film, written and directed by Jeevan Reddy, had released in theatres on June 24. Now, the actioner is all set to premiere on OTT. Telugu OTT platform aha, that bagged the streaming rights for the film, announced that it would release on the streamer soon.
“Bazaar motham aagam cheyyanike, bacchan Saab is ready! #ChorBazaarOnAHA Coming Soon,” aha wrote. The film is likely to release in the first week of October, commemorating Dasara. Subbaraju, Sunil, Sampoornesh Babu and noted actress Archana form the supporting cast of the film that had released in theatres on June 24. V S Raju had bankrolled the film under IV Productions.
The film is all about a youngster Bachchan Saab (named after Amitabh Bachchan, given his mother is a big fan of the star), a small-time garage worker, who makes a living out of petty job. He is soon smitten by a mute girl and she doesn’t take long to reciprocate his feelings for her. What connects Bachchan Saab to a diamond robbery plot? The makers promise an entertaining ride for streaming enthusiasts.
The crew of Chor Bazaar comprises cinematographer Jagadeesh Chekati, art director Gandhi Nadikudikar, editor Anwar Ali, action director Pruthvi Sekhar, costume designer Prasanna Dantuluri and composer Suresh Bobbili. Alluri Suresh Varma is the co-producer. UV Creations had presented the film at the time of its release. The film opened to mixed reviews from audiences and critics.
In a promotional interview while talking about the film, director Jeevan Reddy said, “Though Chor Bazaar is essentially a love story, it revolves around a diamond worth Rs 100 crore. Not many in the area know the worth of the diamond and sell it for paltry prices among one other. The drama around the diamond makes this a fun ride.” The filmmaker directed Dalam, George Reddy before.
