Director Kenja Chethan Kumar’s Chow Chow Bath came to theatres in mid-March, a day on which there were at least 4-5 other new Kannada films in theatres and the big draw was the re-release of the late Puneeth Rajkumar’s Jackie. In theatres, Chow Chow Bath received positive reviews, with the team claiming that it had 50-day run at the box office in select movie halls. The film is now set to come to OTT, with Cinebazzar set to bring it to audiences on May 23.
Chow Chow Bath is Chethan’s third directorial after Prema Geema Jaane Do and Devaru Bekagiddare. This time around, he’s made a romantic comedy with three hyperlinked love stories. The first one follows Sachin (Dhanush Baikampady) as he proposes to Saanvi (Prakarsha Shastry), who cannot commit to a relationship just yet because her sister is still unmarried. The second has Shashank (Sagar) come across the love of his life at a railway station, while the third has Sathya (Sankalp H Sharma) smitten by a girl he sees at a medical camp. The film explores if the three couples find their happily-ever-after.
During the film’s theatrical run, the realistic nature of Chethan’s narrative, and that the film did not follow standard commercial film tropes were highlighted as its positives, besides the refreshing performances of the relatively newbie cast. The overall impression was that Chow Chow Bath is a good one-time watch. Should this be of interest to you, you can book access to the film on the streamer.
Some of the other titles currently available on Cinebazzar OTT, which is a Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) platform, include, Vasanthi (starring Bhoomi Shetty), Shri Lambodara Vivaha (starring Disha Ramesh, Anjan Bharadwaj), Ranchi (starring Prabhu Mundkur), Juliet 2 (starring Brinda Acharya), among others.
