Chris Evans, famous for his portrayal of Captain America in Marvel films, recently discussed his decision to star in the movie Ghosted, his upcoming projects, and the potential for future appearances in Marvel movies during an interview with GQ Magazine. The Gray Man star said that he signed up for Ghosted because he missed such type of movies which he grew up watching. Chris believes that audiences still have an appetite for films like Ghosted. "I don't think viewers have outgrown this genre. They still crave it," he stated.
Taking about Ghosted, the actor admitted that the movie had potential for improvement. However, he also noted that it had a decent viewership.
Chris said, "I think the people who disliked the movie were mostly critics. The thing is that if made properly, movies like Ghosted would still succeed."
During a discussion about taking a break from movies, Chris explained that he didn't want to take up too much space in an industry where he had already dedicated 20 years of his career. Chris talked about spending time with his wife and his plans to do one movie a year hereafter. He also supported Quentin Tarantino's recent statement that characters are the stars, not the actors.
When asked about reprising his role as Captain America, the actor did not completely dismiss the idea. He expressed that playing the character was a fulfilling experience and he felt honored to have done so. However, the actor emphasized that he currently has other passions and won't accept a role solely for financial gain. Therefore, it is unlikely that he will return to the role of Captain America in the near future. The actor is rumoured to return as Captain America through the 2027 release Avengers: Secret Wars. The film already boasts of an ensemble star cast including Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch and Simu Liu.
