Defending Jacob, Apple TV+'s limited episode series featuring Chris Evans, becomes the first content on the streaming platform to be released physically in Blu-ray and DVD versions.
The miniseries debuted last year on the streaming platform, one month into the pandemic, in April. The show opened up to unrivalled success, surpassing the popularity of other shows available on the streaming platform.
Defending Jacob is a crime-drama series based on a book by the same name by William Landay. The story revolves around an assistant district attorney (played by Chris Evans) who has to defend his son undergoing a trial after he is accused of murder charges and the extent to which a father goes in order to prove his child's innocence. The series stars Chris Evans, Michelle Dockery and Jaeden Martell. Following the huge success of the show, Apple TV+ even signed off an exclusive TV development contract with the show's screenwriter Mark Bomback.
The crime drama series is helmed by Morten Tyldum on a script penned by Mark Bomback. Chris Evans, apart from headlining the series also doubles up as an executive producer alongside Tyldum, Bombark, Rosalie Swedlin and Adam Shulman.
Meanwhile, Chris Evans has an impressive lineup of digital releases waiting in his kitty right now. He will be next seen in Netflix's much-anticipated movie adaptation of The Gray Man alongside Ryan Gosling. He will also be featuring in Adam McKay's Netflix comedy film Don't Look Up with stars like Ariana Grande, Timothee Chalamet, Leonardo Di Capro and Jennifer Lawrence. Alongside, he will also be lending his voice to the titular character in Disney+Pixar's upcoming animated movie, Lightyear.
