Chup: Revenge of the Artist teaser: Dulquer Salmaan pays an ode to Guru Dutt by making 'Kaagaz Ke Phool' literally

Chup: Revenge of the Artist, directed by R Balki, brings Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt, Dulquer Salmaan, and Shreya Dhanwanthary together. The makers have dropped the exciting teaser for the thriller flick. The 37-second long video features Dulquer, Shreya, and Sunny, giving it an interesting edge.

In the teaser, DQ is seen cutting newspapers in the shape of a flower and making a bouquet. He is heard singing Happy Birthday in the tune of Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam from Guru Dutt's Kaagaz Ke Phool. The actor is paying an ode to the legendary filmmaker-actor. Further, the teaser shows that Dulquer gifts Shreya the bouquet of paper flowers, and in return she talks about the criticism Kaagaz Ke Phool received during its release. The teaser ends with DQ screaming "Chup".

The 35-year-old actor had earlier told PTI that he was curious to see how the film was accepted because it was an "experimental" effort.

Dulquer expressed disbelief and said, "Are you really thinking about me for this role?" when Balki gave him Chup. Considering that he has never done it before, it's by no means typical in any way. Although it's an experimental movie, the actor believes it will be interesting to him as well. When it is released, he is sure all of them will be interested in it.

On the occasion of the iconic director Guru Dutt's passing in October last year, the film's creators had already announced its title, with Balki stating that Chup is an ode to the sensitive artist.

There is no other information regarding the movie available, but Dulquer told the media agency that around November of last year, they finished it. He's never done something similar before, so he's also terrified.

The release date of Chup is yet to be announced.
