CID 2: ACP Pradyuman aka Shivaji Satam returns to sets; Parth Samthaan drops BTS video of 'gem' actor

When the news of Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradyuman exiting the iconic show, CID, surfaced on social media, fans expressed their disappointment as they claimed that CID is incomplete without ACP Pradyuman. The character has been winning hearts for more than two decades now. CID has a new ACP called Ayushmann, played by Parth Samthaan. But it seems like the OG ACP is back as Shivaji Satam was seen returning to the sets of CID 2 in the behind-the-scenes video shared by Parth. 

CID 2 is available for streaming on SonyLIV via OTTplay Premium. The new episodes air every Saturday and Sunday at 10 p.m.

Shivaji Satam is back as ACP Pradyuman in CID 2?

Parth Samthaan took to his Instagram account and shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring himself and Shivaji Satam from the sets of CID 2. In the clip, Parth and Shivaji were seen shaking their hands with bright smiles on their faces. 

Sharing the video, Parth wrote, “Shooting with ACP Pradyuman Aka Shivaji Satam was a delight and full of entertainment. Gem of a guy.”

Parth Samthaan shares a long note

The actor also shared a long note and introduced his ACP Ayushmann role in CID 2. He wrote, "Introducing ACP Ayushman in the most Iconic, loved and longest running show -
CID !!! This show has always been an integral part of our childhood and Indian Television ! The all time famous dialogues as well as the officers becoming veterans or rather Legends (ACP pradyuman , Daya & Abhijeet ) , this show has seen it all and to be a part is truly a blessing for me."

The actor, who made a comeback to television after 5 years, mentioned that he never thought he would make a comeback with CID. "But then, that’s life - always being unpredictable and mysterious and I always end up taking that unplanned route for myself, be it Kyy or Kasautii! So let’s begin this beautiful journey and crack some cases," he concluded. 

Parth Samthaan initially rejected ACP Ayushmann role

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Parth revealed that he initially rejected the ACP role because he does not relate to it, but reconsidered after the makers asked him. 

"I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as ‘sir’ on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward," he said.

Apart from SonyLIV and SonyTV, CID 2 is also available for streaming on Netflix.
