CID 2: Aditya Srivastava and Dayanand Shetty recall their close bond with Shivaji Satam; 'We will miss our ACP Saab'

CID is one of the most extended Indian TV shows, and it was renewed for a second season in December 2024 due to huge fans' demand after a long 6-year break. CID 2, which is available on SonyLIV and SonyTV, has been doing pretty well until the news of Shivaji Satam's iconic character, ACP Pradyuman's sudden exit surfaced. For all the CID fans, ACP Pradyuman was not just a character, it was indeed an emotion. In a new interview, Inspectors Daya and Abhijeet (Dayanand Shetty and Aditya Srivastava) reacted to the news and added that they will greatly miss their ACP Saab.

'We will miss our ACP Pradyuman's lively nature on set', say Dayanand Shetty and Aditya Srivastava

During a recent interview with Telly Chakkar, Dayanand Shetty and Aditya Srivastava were asked about their reaction to the news of Shivaji Satam's sudden exit from CID 2. The actors have been working together in the show for more than 2 decades now and are known as the iconic trio of CID. 

Reacting to the news, Dayanand aka Daya said, "The way ACP Saab used to handle every situation, his lively nature on the set will be greatly missed. We will miss our ACP Saab. He was a father figure to all of us here. We are feeling fatherless right now. But yeah, the show must go on." He further added that there is an obvious sad feeling, but we are happy for the new young ACP Ayushmann (Parth Samthaan).

Speaking about their bond with ACP Pradyuman, Daya said, "We used to understand his words even by looking at his face, and what he wanted to tell us, and we used to follow those. Now this chemistry with the new ACP, who is younger than us and will be giving the orders and it will be an interesting aspect in the upcoming episodes." He also said that fans might like the age difference and how they handle the situation but added that they will definitely miss their OG ACP Pradyuman. 

On the other hand, Aditya said that it is a huge piece of shocking news for CID. "We still cannot believe it. We feel like Sir is here and he will order something, and we will follow. It feels like an earthquake." He admitted that they were not aware of ACP Pradyuman's exit from the show. 

Aditya also said that their chemistry with the new ACP will begin to develop, and slowly they will get to know each other, and they will reach a point together. 

Additionally, ACP Pradyuman played by Shivaji Satam has exited the show after more than 2 decades after the makers confirmed his death in the show.

Parth Samthaan on joining CID 2 as ACP Ayushmann

Meanwhile, Parth Samthaan, who has replaced Shivaji Satam's ACP Pradyuman with ACP Ayushmann, said in an interview that it is a huge responsibility to step into the shoes of ACP Pradyuman. He is hopeful about taking the narrative forward with fresh thrill and suspense. "It’s a cross-collaboration for me, and I’m truly glad to be part of such an iconic show," he added.
