The buzz around the popular show CID has been massive, as CID Season 2 is successfully running on both television and streaming platforms as we speak. The world has been hooked to the show, but it was on April 5 and 6 that fans got one of the biggest shockers when they saw ACP Pradyuman—played by Shivaji Satam for over two decades—die in the show. The twist was hard to digest, and the makers soon introduced a new ACP. This new character is played by TV heartthrob Parth Samthaan, who has been in the news for quite a while.

While fans might have accepted Parth in the role, they are not ready to accept Shivaji Satam’s absence. This has reportedly led the makers to reconsider their decision and bring back the veteran actor to his much-loved mantle. According to fresh reports, the makers have indeed brought Satam back on board and have already chalked out a plan for his return in CID Season 2.
As per TellyChakkar, the creators realized that killing off ACP Pradyuman left the audience disappointed, and they couldn't envision CID without him. As a result, they've decided to bring him back with a dramatic re-entry. Preparations are already underway, and viewers can expect Shivaji Satam to return as ACP Pradyuman in the upcoming episodes of CID 2.
Parth Samthaan recently confirmed that he is indeed joining CID following Shivaji Satam's exit. The actor admitted he was initially nervous about the move. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, he revealed that he had initially rejected the offer. “But the makers asked me to reconsider. I was also hesitant due to the show's long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as ‘sir’ on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward,” he said.
“I was waiting for the right opportunity to make my comeback on TV. I was offered a few scripts, but they were all similar romantic roles. When this show was offered to me, I decided to take on the challenge,” Parth added.
CID recently made a comeback after six years. On returning to TV screens, Shivaji Satam had earlier said: “In this edition of the show, the Daya-Abhijeet bond, once unbreakable, has snapped, and the two are standing opposite each other. The very foundation of CID is shaken, and ACP Pradyuman's world is turned upside down. It feels surreal to return as ACP Pradyuman after six years, a character that has received so much love, and we promise a thrilling ride filled with suspense and heart-stopping drama!”
CID, which went off the air in 2018 after a 20-year-long run, returned in 2025 with Season 2. The new season is now streaming on both television and OTT platforms, including SonyLIV and Netflix.
