Cinema Bandi director Praveen Kandregula teams up with Anupama Parameswaran for his next

Cinema Bandi, directed by Praveen Kandregula and backed by The Family Man creators Raj and DK, released directly on Netflix to fantastic responses from critics and audiences alike in 2021. The film was one of the most widely viewed Telugu titles on the streaming giant and benefited largely out of the second wave of COVID-19 that restricted viewers to their homes.

The rural comedy, that pays a tribute to cinema, was written by Vasanth Maringanti and starred Vikas Vasistha, Rag Mayur, Sandeep Varanasi, Uma YG, Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy and others in key roles. Ever since the release of Cinema Bandi, audiences have been awaiting an announcement regarding the director’s next film and we officially have an answer now!

Praveen Kandregula is teaming up with Anupama Parameswaran for his upcoming film. He shared the news by posting an image on his social media handle yesterday and wrote, “My next film after #cinemabandi @anupamahere @VijayDonkada.” Anupama is seen with the film’s executive producer Vijay Donkada and the filmmaker in the image.

Director-producer Madhura Sreedhar Reddy congratulated him for the project while Cinema Bandi’s actor Rag Mayur too shared the post with excitement. More details around the project are awaited. Anupama last starred in Disney+ Hotstar’s direct-to-OTT release Butterfly, that had her sharing screenspace alongside Bhumika Chawla, Nihal Kodhaty and others.

Anupama is also awaiting the release of the biggie - Tillu Square - later this year, directed by Mallik Ram, where she’s paired opposite Siddu Jonnalagadda. She has also wrapped her shoot for award-winning director Satish Kasetty’s Mareechika in which Regina Cassandra also essays an important role. The latter has music by Ilaiyaraja. The actress also turned a cinematographer for a short film recently.
