Shruti Haasan, who completed 13 years in the film industry recently, says that Cinema has become the greatest source of joy in her life.

Taking to Instagram, the actress posted a video expressing gratitude and wrote, "Magical 13 years; I never actually thought I'd do more than a movie. I wasn't even born to do this. I learned to love it and cinema has become the greatest source of joy in my life; in fact, it has given me the life I'm so grateful for."

Shruti added that she was eternally thankful for the love and appreciation she gets and assured us she'd never take them for granted. "Through these years, I have learned a lot about how to weather success and failures, how to waltz with confidence and doubt and most of all, to appreciate the honour of telling stories and giving souls to women I've never known before."

The actor thanked her fans for everything. "I hope to give the audience more and make them fall more in love with this gift of time and art. Weirdos just got to stick to being weirdos. It eventually pays off!"

Shruti began her career as a singer-musician before branching out into acting. "It took me a long time to feel at ease with acting. But now I can't imagine doing without it because it allows me to express a different aspect of my artistic self through cinema," she said.

The actor has been in the thick of things with the recent influx of OTT platforms; she was seen in Amazon Prime's Tamil anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai in 2020, and more recently in Netflix's Telugu anthology Pitha Kathalu, in addition to The Best Seller. "The industry has changed dramatically in the last decade." "I've grown more courageous!"

When asked if she noticed any subtle differences while filming a web series, she replied, "There isn't much of a difference, but you notice that the platform, particularly when it's a web series, gives you more time to tell a story. It gives you more time to elaborate on characters and their backstories, which is something you don't get much of in a film. And because I was the series' lead, I had to put in a lot more time than I would for a movie."

On the professional front, Shruti Haasan has NBK 107, Waltair Veerayya and Salaar, in the pipeline.

Shruti Haasan and Santanu Hazarika have been together for a few years. Santanu recently revealed whether they would ever marry in a recent interview. He stated that he and Shruti are both nervous about marriage. According to Santanu, as an artist, he finds it difficult to comprehend any kind of social construct. “I've always lived freely and freely expressed myself. It's wonderful to have a partner who understands this. Shruti and I are too focused on our careers to think about getting married. But, art is the foundation of our relationship!”
