Citadel, with its release, became one of the biggest shows ever made in the history of television worldwide. With Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden at the helm of it and Avengers: Endgame fame Russo Brothers creating it, the Amazon Prime Video show was the talk of the town in no time. However, the show did open to some criticism. But that is not bothering the makers in trusting the IP as they continue to grow it in different sections and versions. The latest update now talks about when season 2 goes on floors with Priyanka and Richard.

What Is The Latest Citadel 2 Update:

It was already announced that Citadel will return with a season 2 as the final episode of the show streamed on Amazon Prime Video. It has almost been a year since then, and turns out the Russos and Prime Video are indeed working towards it as the latest reports claim that the show is going on floors soon. As per Filmfare, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden will begin shooting for Citadel season 2 this fall.

While there is no confirmation of this, the possibility of this being true cannot be denied. The show has been in the pre-production stage for close to a year since the announcement, and this is the correct time to begin shooting. There is also an entire universe that is being built, which means things will have to fall in place for this to work.

What About The Budget:

The budget of Citadel is one of the most talked-about things because it was that massive. The fact that the show was made in Rs 1600 crore left us all shocked and now with season 2 going on floors, we cannot even imagine the extent to which the budget will skyrocket. However, with the criticism that season one received, the makers might even cut short things and reduce the cost. You never know.

The show will obviously bring in some new faces and also some of the big stars from other branches of this universe to connect them all.

Citadel 2 Release:

There is no release date attached to the project as of yet. However, if it goes into production this fall, the possibility is that we might witness Citadel season 2 by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
