The actors are gearing up to get into action mode for Citadel.
On Monday, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu recovered after filming the upcoming Indian series of Citadel by soaking in cold baths.
A video of a tub full of ice cubes was posted to Instagram by Varun. In another photo, Samantha can be seen chilling off in an ice bath. "Torture time, ice bath recovery, action mode on," she wrote.
Taking an ice bath after a particularly taxing workout or competition has been shown to hasten healing and lessen muscular stiffness and soreness.
Varun and Samantha went to the launch of the new action-thriller show Citadel. The forthcoming local spy series, created by filmmakers Raj and DK, will premiere exclusively on Prime Video.
In its original form, Citadel was the Russo Brothers' high-budget science fiction show. In the American adaptation, Bollywood's desi girl, Priyanka Chopra, stars opposite Richard Madden.
Varun, who will make his OTT debut with the Indian adaptation of Citadel, is excited to start his adventure in the streaming market with the company, describing Prime Video as like "home" to him.
While talking about the same, he said that being a part of this magnificent universe, conceptualised by the Russo Brothers' AGBO and Jennifer Salke, is a defining moment in his career, and he is honoured to be a part of the groundbreaking Citadel franchise.
The actor has been a big fan of their work, and he is beyond thrilled to be a part of this project. When one has writers as talented as Raj and DK working on the Indian Citadel chapter, they know they are in for a spectacle.
Meanwhile, Samantha made her web series debut with The Family Man Season 2, which was also helmed by Raj and DK. In the series, she played the antagonist while Manoj Bajpayee continued as the lead character. The Family Man 2 is currently streaming on Prime Video.
