In the next Russo Brothers production Citadel, actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas is prepared to show off her acting prowess. The majority of the actor's action scenes were put together for the spy thriller series. Joe Russo, the series' creator, recently revealed that none of the things they put Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans through while filming the Marvel movies were done to Priyanka.

During one of the interviews for the promotion of Citadel, Joe said, “The physical work she did on the show, for the amount of time she had to do it, it was the toughest we have put any actor through.” The maker aso added that Priyanka carries “a lot of physicality of season one”.

Priyanka made light of the fact that the series' last scene is her favourite. Joe continued, “It’s the hardest job we have asked of any actor that we worked with. Even when we were doing those Marvel movies, when Robert Downey Jr puts on that helmet, he is out and CGI takes over. Chris Evans when puts on the cap, some man takes over, but there was no rest for her.” The actor had previously received plaudits from the director for her 'enthusiasm' for her role.

Because "our characters are humans, we get hurt, we bleed, we don't have superpowers," says Priyanka, "what didn't happen to Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans happened to her, so it was important."

Richard Madden, who plays Mason Kane in Citadel, is paired with Priyanka in the role of top spy Nadia Sinh. The actor recently claimed in an interview with indianexpress.com that "patriarchy" is the primary cause of why female performers have never received that mounting.

Citadel will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on April 28.
