Priyanka Chopra Jonas is leaving no stone unturned in promotions of her upcoming Amazon Prime Video show Citadel. The actress will be seen as a spy, Nadia Sinh, along with Richard Madden in the web series created by the Russo Brothers. The actors kickstarted their world promotions from Mumbai early in April this year. While interacting with a group of journalists, Priyanka Chopra opened up about why she has become more careful and protective about herself and her family and why she’s not as free as she used to be a few years back.

Priyanka has undoubtedly become the global ambassador of Indian Cinema. The actress was asked if being in her position limits her choices, especially since every role she does, every interview she gives, and every statement she makes is perceived as something that Indian Cinema does.

The Citadel star responded, “No, it's, it's more scary for me as a person than limiting my choices, because my choices come to me with the credibility I've built. So the opportunities that come to me will come to me because people will say, ‘Oh, she's a good actor,’ or, I give a good audition, or ‘She makes sense for this role’. But yes, it makes me more careful about what I say. It makes me a little bit more protective about myself and my family.”

The actress further added, “I'm not as free as I used to be maybe six, seven years ago, I feel, the words I say are picked apart and misconstrued, most of the time. Things I don't say become headlines because of people's perceptions. So yes, it has made me a little bit more, I think careful and protective of myself especially now because I have a child to think of and a family to think of and everything that I do or say may or may not impact them. So I guess there is a certain responsibility that I'm just starting to protect myself a little bit more than I used to. I was a lot more kuch bhi bol lo, kuch bhi puchh lo (chuckles). Not anymore.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, apart from Citadel, Priyanka will also be seen in the Bollywood film Jee Le Zara alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. The movie will be helmed by Farhan Akhtar who has started scouting for locations already.

The first two episodes of Citadel will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from April 28th, 2023.
