If you have watched the trailer of Amazon Prime Video’s much-awaited sci-fi action thriller television series Citadel, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Hollywood actor Richard Madden, there’s no way you had missed the dazzling train sequence. While speaking at a recent press conference in Mumbai about the filming of it, Richard described it as ‘kind of terrifying’.

“The whole sequence happens in a restroom, and obviously then into the train. But that restroom is a tiny space. So I was terrified by it because I thought, how are we going to pull this off? How do you look cool? How do you do it properly? And then that just fed into working with the character, and that’s what we did. How would you use every bit in that space? How do you use the sink in a fight? How do you use the handrail? So, it gave us all these opportunities to make the fine part of the storytelling of let’s get to know who this man is because of what decisions he makes in that space. So that was exciting. And then we move into our part together, which is, okay, let’s see how these two people dance together. They’ve only just reconnected after who knows how long, and they’re straight into this dance,” the actor elaborated.

Priyanka and Richard will be seen as Citadel agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh respectively in the series, which is created by Russo Brothers and David Weil. The six-episode first season is slated to premiere on April 28, with its first two episodes.

The Indian part of the international spy franchise stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Helmed by Raj and DK, the show is described as an ‘action-packed spy series with a compelling emotional centre’.
