Ayesha Kanga, who is getting love for her role in the web series Class, opens up on how she has transformed from being a graphic designer to an actress. She added that working with director Ashim Ahluwalia was an eye opener.

In Class, Ayesha plays Yashika Mathur, the girlfriend of Veer, who is played by Zeyn Shaw.

Talking about the captain of the ship, Ashim Ahluwalia, Ayesha said, "Ashim is an evil genius. He has a profound understanding of what he wants things to look and feel like. Everyone has to surrender to his vision, and they don't mind because it's stunning. There is always a conflict between art and commerce, but his work is such a good indication that art will always persevere."

Sharing her experience of working with the National Award-winning filmmaker, the young actress said, "Working with him was great; he really knows how to get the best performance out of newcomers. The show exists because of him, and we exist on the show because of him. I respect him immensely and it is a dream to work with him again in any capacity."

Ayesha is a NID alumnus and majored in graphic design. From a creative and technical background, she pursued modelling and then gravitated to facing the camera with a plum role in a prestigious project.

Ayesha spoke about her big switch to acting and said that she always wanted to be an artist.

"Getting into NID was my biggest goal and after I got in, I studied graphic design, and I thought I would do that my entire life," said the actress.

According to her, one day, when she got fired from her job, she happened to look elsewhere, which is when modelling came her way.

"Then, I saw Made in Heaven and it was one of those shows that spoke to me. It made me feel that the person that I am will be accepted on shows, on camera as an actor. People were telling stories that appealed to me. So, in a nutshell, the show Made in Heaven made me want to act," revealed the actress.

Class is streaming on Netflix.
