Class release date: When and where to watch the Indian adaptation of Elite on OTT

Indian audiences are gearing up for the desi version of the hit Spanish drama series Elite. Titled Class, the Indian adaptation of the series promises to be as exciting, thrilling and thought provoking as the original.

What is Class about?

Set in New Delhi, Class follows the story of three poor students who get a scholarship to attend the fictional Hampton International academy, a prestigious school attended by the children of the elite. When the trio clash come face to face with the entitled students of the academy born with a silver spoon in their mouths, the result is obvious. As conflicts erupt, secrets form, and soon the academy is rocked by a shocking murder.

The upcoming series is the Hindi adaptation of the Spanish series Elite, which can be streamed on Netflix.

Who are the cast and crew behind Class?

Gurfateh Pirzada, Anjali Sivaraman, Ayesha Kanga, Chayan Chopra, Chintan Rachchh, Cwaayal Singh, Madhyama Segal, Moses Koul, Naina Bhan, Piyush Khati, and Zeyn Shaw are among the actors who will feature in the show.

The series has been directed by National Award-winning director Ashim Ahluwalia. In a statement, the director spoke of how hard it was to adapt the popular Spanish series and set the story in an Indian context. Wanting to make something real and interesting, Class showcased just how strong feelings can be in adolescents.

The director was also interested in showcasing just how the concept of class can translate in the world of adolescents as well, which everyone experiences but is rarely captured on screen. “Class is a wild and explosive relationship between the two, taking place in a world where the Elite have everything they could possibly want, aside from a clear conscience, while the less fortunate must manoeuvre their way through deadly situations”, he said.

Class will be available for streaming on Netflix from February 3, 2023 onwards.
