This story of the movie takes place in London, UK. A group of activists, who believe in big changes, crash a fancy party, which held every year by an powerful company. The activists take 300 people hostage because they want to show everyone how corrupt the company hosts are.
However, their good intentions soon get twisted. One of the activists, who has extreme views, takes over the chance. He's willing to kill everyone in the building to spread his message of chaos across the world.
Now, it's up to Joey Locke (Daisy Ridley), a former soldier, who now cleans windows, to save the day. She's hanging 50 stories high on the outside of the building. Ridley must rescue everyone trapped inside, including her own younger brother.

When the interviewer compared her movie with Bruce Willis 1988 masterpiece, Die Hard, the 33-year-old actress stated that she was very excited to make a British action drama first of all. According to her, Cleaner is definitely a 'love letter' to Die Hard.
The narrative of the drama makes Daisy constantly on the phone to the police, which lead to her and the police officer build a rapport and trying to figure out how to defeat what is ahead of them. Daisy shared that she has built a beautiful connection with all the cast and crew while working on the movie. However, sometimes she felt weirdly alone but had a team in the movie.
