Netflix dropped the trailer of a thrilling new eight-episode miniseries titled Clickbait, which has Adrien Grenier and Zoe Kazan in the lead.
The caption of the trailer read, “When family man Nick Brewer is abducted in a crime with a sinister online twist, those closest to him race to uncover who is behind it and why.”
The trailer shows Grenier as the perfect family man, being a seemingly good husband, brother and father. Subsequently, he is abducted and the footage is live streamed with him bruised and beaten, holding a sign, saying, “I abuse women. At 5 million views, I die.”
His wife (Betty Gabriel) and sister (Kazan) uncover a secret side to Nick as they rush to save him, unsure if it is a confession, a threat or both.
Take a look at the gritty trailer below.
Fans would recognise Grenier from The Devil Wears Prada as Andy’s (Anne Hathaway) boyfriend. Meanwhile, Kazan has starred in The Big Sick alongside Kumail Nanjiani and Betty Gabriel acted in the critically acclaimed film, Get Out.
The crew of the series has an interesting lineup as well. Tony Ayres is the creator and executive producer of the series. Along with Ayres, David Heyman (Gravity, Harry Potter, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood) and Tom Winchester will also be executive producers. Christian White is the co-creator, co-producer and writer with Brad Anderson (The Sinner) serving as the director.
