A sequel to 2021's CGI/live-action adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog has been greenlit by Paramount Pictures. The first part had simultaneously premiered in US theatres and on American streaming platform Paramount Plus.

Collider writes that the film, made on a budget of $64 million, was only able to gross $30 million at the box office in North America.

However, Paramount Plus had revealed that Clifford the Big Red Dog was among its most-watched originals since the launch of the platform, which means that Paramount believes this film is still important enough to have a second instalment. The film had also faced multiple delays due to the pandemic, and despite that managed to attract audiences across cinemas and on the streamer.

Clifford the Big Red Dog is based on the children's book by author Norman Bridwell. It has since been adapted for screen into a cartoon series, movies, and even video games, according to Collider

The 2021 film had received mixed reviews, with critics mostly panning it, while the audience giving it a high approval rating (95%) as seen on Rotten Tomatoes

Directed by Walt Becker, the script was penned by from a script by Jay Scherick, David Ronn and Blaise Hemingway. The cast had Jack Whitehall with Darby Camp, Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong, Kenan Thompson, and John Cleese.

Paramount is yet to announce an official title and release date of the sequel.
