Tamil actor Vikram is gearing up for the release of Cobra, an action-thriller written and directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu. Vikram has been on a promotional tour for quite some time and interacting with media belonging to the Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada industries. And while in Bengaluru to spread the word along with his team, the actor spoke of the prospects of acting in a straight Kannada film in the future.
When quizzed by a journalist about his interests in Kannada cinema, and whether he would be keen on working with the filmmakers here, Vikram said that he would love to act in a Kannada film without any qualms. Stating that he has never really bothered about the language of his content, Vikram shared that he has been approached by multiple of filmmakers from Kannada including Pawan Kumar of Lucia fame.
Vikram would go on to add that the offers that have come his way are currently in the scripting stage and the makers are yet to decide on the language of its making. The official confirmation on these collaborations, of course, will now be a matter of time but the actor’s Kannada fans already seem kicked about his upcoming debut.
Cobra also stars K.G.F: Chapter 2 girl Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead who shared the stage with Vikram during the aforementioned media event. When the latter was asked who he would like to work with in his Kannada debut, he quipped that he would want to be seen next to the ‘Queen’, referring to the many comments on social media that have termed Srinidhi Shetty as the Queen.
At the same event, Vikram would cite KGF 2 as the classic example of language not being a barrier and also spoke of calling up Prashanth Neel right after he watched the film. “I said I want to do a film with you,” added Vikram.
Cobra releases on August 31, 2022, in Tamil and has also been dubbed in Telugu and Kannada. The film features the music of A.R. Rahman and the principal cast also includes cricketer Irfan Pathan, filmmaker K.S. Ravikumar, and Roshan Mathew.
