Code M season 2: Jennifer Winget is back with a ferocious persona in the new season

Popular actor Jennifer Winget returns as Monica Mehra to enchant us with the second season of 'Code M’. She has now been promoted to the ranks of a major. The makers of the show released the trailer for the show today and the one-and-a-half-minute clip is a visual treat, with plenty of action and drama. It makes for an exciting watch, especially with rap music playing in the background.

The trailer shows a brave Monica Mehra, who has been promoted to the rank of Major, investigating yet another case involving a vigilante group tracking down and killing corrupt officials including Indian Army commanders. Monica suspects that someone in the Army is behind all this and as she investigates, things take an ugly turn for her. Watch the trailer here:

The actor also shared the trailer on her social media handles. Sharing it on Instagram, she wrote in her post: "Attention comrades!🚨 Are you ready to join Major Monica Mehra as she protects the country, no matter what the cost? #CodeM2 is streaming from 9th June, only on @vootselect" (sic)

Code M marked the OTT debut of the TV actor in 2020. Speaking about her character, Jennifer told The Print that despite a lot of content on various platforms, there aren’t too many shows where a female actor gets to play the hero. "I am beyond thrilled that I get to play the brave and badass Major Monica Mehra once again. The upcoming season delves into Monica’s journey after she separates from her husband," she told the portal.

She also spoke about what the audience can expect from the new season. She said, Monica, who has been entrusted with the Kargil Diwas event, must track down an assassin. A series of events unfold during her effort to arrest the perpetrator, and that forms the crux of the story.

The upcoming season of the series, directed by Akshay Choubey, also features Tanuj Virwani and Swanand Kirkire in important roles. It is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, along with Jio Studios and Juggernaut Productions. The second season of 'Code M’, will premiere on Voot Select on June 9.
