Actress Parineeti Chopra gained immense popularity with her portrayal of an outspoken bubbly girl in her initial few films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Ishaqzaade and Shuddh Desi Romance among others. At the trailer preview of her upcoming film Code Name: Tiranga, the actress shared that after the release of the film the audience will be surprised to see her action-heroine avatar.
As Parineeti is playing a RAW agent in the film, she will be seen doing multiple hand-to-hand combat sequences and using firearms quite efficiently in the film. A few glimpses of the same are also a part of the film’s trailer which is set to be unveiled on Wednesday.
During an interactive session with the media, as part of the preview of the trailer on Tuesday, Parineeti said, "It was a difficult shoot for all of us, but one of the biggest lessons I learnt regarding action was from Rohit Shetty sir that for an action shoot, nothing is more important than the safety of every actor.”
The actress added, “In our film some of the toughest action sequences we shot, all thanks to Yanik and his team. He worked on many Indian action films. He would make us do so many action rehearsals that by the time we are doing it on camera, we are like pros! We were careful and very responsible."
She went on, saying, "I had many injuries and pain also but there was no major medical emergency to put our shooting on hold. Everything was tough but doable. I have learnt hand-to-hand combat so well that I feel like real life action heroine! I think it is time to remove the bubby (girl) tag that media has given me."
Set in Turkey, the film is a story of a RAW agent on a mission to save her country and also falls in love with someone, which changes the course of the whole journey.
Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the film Code Name: Tiranga also features Sharad Kelkar, Rajit Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Shishir Sharma and Sabyasachi Chakraborty among others. The action-thriller will be released theatrically on October 14 and later on the streaming platform Netflix.
