Parineeti Chopra is all set to grace the silver screen in her badass action heroine avatar yet again. The actress will next be seen in Code Name: Tiranga, an espionage thriller which promises to be rife with action. The film will make its way onto the big screen on October 14, Friday. But for those who are unable to witness Parineeti in action in theatres, worry not, as the makers have already locked in the streaming platform where the film can be streamed post its theatrical run.
The streaming rights of Code Name: Tiranga have been bagged by Netflix, and the film will be available to stream on the streaming giant’s platform after completing its theatrical run. The makers are yet to reveal the OTT release date of the espionage thriller.
Code Name: Tiranga follows the story of Durga Singh, a skilled and dangerous spy who is tasked with a covert mission. Durga goes undercover to Turkey, where she tries to trace a dangerous terrorist named Khalid Omar, who has been in hiding since 2001. But things get complicated when she meets and falls in love with a doctor named Mirza Ali. Soon her identity becomes compromised, threatening her mission and her love story with Mirza.
Parineeti essays the role of Durga Singh, in one of her first action films since Kill Dil. In order to prep for the role, the actress had to undergo a rigorous training regime for almost three months during the lockdown period. She also underwent weapons training as well, glimpses of which she shared on her official social media handles.
Harrdy Sandhu stars as Dr Mirza Ali, while Sharad Kelkar essays the role of Khalid Omar. The action film also features Rajit Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Shishir Sharma, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Deesh Mariwala.
The film is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta in his second collaboration with Parineeti after 2021’s The Girl on the Train. The upcoming film was produced under the banners of T-Series, Reliance Entertainment, and Film Hangar.
